Frequently Asked Questions
As we get asked questions about the big day, we'll post them on this page so that everyone can see the answers. There are no stupid questions so ask away. OK, there might be some stupid questions and the person who asks the daftest genuine question wins a bag of Dime bars.
What's the best way to get to the ceremony?
Use our double decker bus that leaves from the reception venue at 4.15pm sharp. The reception venue is easy to find but the ceremony venue is not! Have a look on the reception venue page of this site for a map. If you are going to make your own way from Battersea Park, use the photo tour link on the Ceremony page. You might be able to park in the carpark accessed from the Chelsea Gate. However, when you then drive to the reception venue, there are few parking places. We strongly recommend using public transport and using our bus from the reception venue.
What is the dress code?
There is no dress code. Wear whatever you like. And yes, that includes pyjamas or a pink wetsuit. We can always cut you out of the photos later...
If I'm going to the ceremony, am I likely to get a seat?
Probably not! There are 22 seats and about enough room for another 20 or so to stand on the balcony above. Seats will be pre-reserved for older guests or those with young babies etc. On the day, one of our helpers will have the list of who is getting a seat. Obviously, we have seats for everyone at the reception.
Isn't 5pm a bit late in the day for a wedding ceremony?
The Pump House Gallery is open as an art gallery until 4pm every day so the ceremony has to happen after the gallery closes. This means we will have the only wedding there on the day. We've got the reception venue booked until 1.30am so you should have plenty of time to party.
Will there be a bar or is the drink sorted?
You will not need to buy any drinks as they will all be provided.
Can I sleep on your floor?
Our room has been taken (Jess and James) and the living room has also been taken (Rob, Dan and Tim). Sorry!
Will I have to pay the congestion charge to drive to the wedding?
There is no congestion charge on weekends so you will not have to pay it unless you arrive on Friday. The reception venue is in the congestion charge zone.
Can you describe your first Dime Bar?
